COUGAR CODE

Faculty and Staff collaborated to create expectations for students in all areas of the school aligned to three International Baccalaureate (IB) Learner Profile attributes: Caring, Communicator, Principled. Leadership facilitated an inquiry-based discussion for faculty and staff to identify the top three Learner Profiles that pertain to student behavior in every and any space of the school.

Dress Code / CODIGO DE VESTIMENTA

DRESS CODE

For safety reasons, students are not allowed to wear the following on campus at any time:

• Sunglasses indoors
• Open-toed or open-back shoes (flip-flops, sandals, crocs, slippers, etc.)
• Oversized, baggy pants (belt required if too big; no sagging)
• Ripped, distressed, torn, or unhemmed shorts, pants, skirts or jeans
• Short shorts or skirts (must be longer than finger tips when arms at side)
• Spaghetti strap tops, sleeveless tops, crop tops
• Leggings, tights, leotards, or dance pants
• Overly large hoop earrings or long earrings
• Items with metal studs, spikes, buckles with letters or initials, chains
• Any item that serves as “group identification” for off-campus groups (ex. gloves, gang rags, clothing with special markings, logos/pictures of alcohol or drugs, inappropriate images or language.

Violating the dress code may result in:

• Confiscation of item(s)
• Student remaining in the office until parents bring in appropriate uniform
• Restorative Practices (reflective writing, reflective circle)

Por razones de seguridad nose permiteque los estudiantes esténvestidos o usando los siguiente en la escuela:

• Lentes de sol
• Zapatos con abertura al frente o atrás(chanclas, sandalias, etc.)
• Pantalones muy grandes que cuelguen(deben usar cinturón, no colgantes)
• Pantalones, pantalones cortos, faldas o pantalones de mezclilla desgastados, rotoso sin inmutarse
• Pantalones cortos que sean muy cortos o faldas muy cortas(más corto que las puntas de los dedos cuando los brazos están al costado)
• Camisas de tirantes delgados (spaghetti) o sin mangas
• Mayones, leotardos, pantalones de baile o medias
• Aretes que no esténen en los oídos(ex. nariz, labios, cejas, lengua, etc.)
• Aretes o arracadas muy grandes o largos
• Artículos con tachuelas de metal, puntas, hebillas con letras o iniciales, cadenas
• Artículos que puedan ser usados para identificarse con grupos fuera dela escuela (ex.guantes, trapos de pandillas, vestimenta con marcas, logos o fotografías especiales o de alcohol o drogas o imágenes/lenguaje no apropiadas)

La violacióna estas reglas puede resultar en:

• Confiscamiento del articulo(s)
• Que el estudiante permanezca en la oficina hasta que los padres le traigan vestimenta adecuada
• Prácticas restaurativas(escribir reflexiones o participar en círculos reflectivos)
